Eien from Dark Latte
Sketch of Eien done during transit on my trip back to Taiwan for Chinese NY. Been contemplating whether to colour it in… probably not, I always ruin my sketches when I try to colour them 🙁
Background: Set around the 1850-1870s. It is said that the items of folklores were once created by a spirit that took pity upon those who wished for the power to decide their fate. But instead of bringing people fortune, these items often became a curse to their owners. Yet despite the reputation, many still seeks these items that have passed into tales. Some… to exploit them, and a few… to ensure they remains unknown to the world.
Name: Eien (Eyn-Ein, I wanted the name to look okay but not necessarily how it’s pronounced) 闇音, meaning Sound of Darkness. Designed to be “a black rose blooming in winter snow”.
A frail appearance belies a masterful and resilient individual. Her almost exclusively black choice of outfit makes her somewhat a frightful hazard when wandering at night (since she easily sneaks up out the gloom, intentional or unintentional).
She is also known as The Dark Chronicle, 暗理通鑑, meaning more or less a record of reflection upon the order of darkness.
Mery Christmas
Sketches
Recent sketches.
Head is too large in this one, and I had to enlarge the guitar afterward as I had no idea how large Yui’s guitar actually is when on the train, so the hands aren’t quite right for holding it.
A much better attempt this one.
This one is probably abit closer to Kantoku in terms of composition. Inspired after drawing two Yui in a row and just felt like drawing another guitar/microphone set.
Definitely took a page from Poco in this one (it’s loli!). Quite happy with the proportion and pose so I think I might see if I can clean it up in SAI and color it for once.

The drawing itself: Done mostly while lounging at the airports during the trip back to Taiwan for Chinese NY 2011.
