Dateline is back! SBS (Special Broadcasting Service)’s and in my opinion, Australia’s best current affairs program.

I fell in love with Dateline a few years go, well, I’ve always liked it, but when one of their journalist was caught in an attack while interviewing the rebels in East Timor. That was when I thought “wow, this is real journalism, not afraid to go where it’s dangerous”.

They have some really interesting coverage of things happening around the world, things which I never knew about. What I really like is they don’t just cover news events but also cover cultural issues, almost like a more current news version of National Geo (the magazine, not the tv channel).

Sadly George Nagus is no longer the host, the new hosts seems a little green :/

Heard this guy Tom Ward perform outside Myer while out walking. Not a bad guitarist, though I’ll give the guy extra points for dressing real smart. Was almost tempted to buy his CD.

Some street performers are really top notch. If only someday the same can be seen in Taipei.
